Apple Alley
Early Education
Our Early Education program is primarily
offered to parents and teachers of children ranging approximately
from 2 1/2 through 5 or 6 years old. 2008
The first "Apple Alley" was a home-based children's center in Longmont, Colorado.
It was a mini licensed day-care center that operated as a pre-K school, from 1987
to 1996. Its predecessor was "Happy Sun" Children's Center and existed on a horse
ranch outside Boulder, Colorado from 1982 to 1986. Those wonderful experiences
in town in a small converted garage, and on the spacious ranch in the prairie,
give heart to our Early Education suggestions. Our desire is to encourage
parents and teachers of young children, in real ways, to make the most out
of a short time called "childhood."
The world is a more dangerous place than it was, even as recently as the 80s & 90s.
However, the basic fundamentals of development of the mind,
body, heart and skills of a child, remain the same. More than ever,
children need to be presented with genuinely intelligent care and days
filled with life-centered awareness. The real point in education is
always to show children how to live.
We offer Apple Alley Tutorials each season as developmental guides
and experiential inspiration for educators. The Tutorials are filled with suggestions
for creating a Natural Education homeschool curriculum right from the start.
Whether you decide to homeschool your child or not, the Tutorials offer a rich
experience. Each tutorial includes personal email dialogue with the director
while you are enrolled. (Books and supplies are not included.)
